Quick update. I just spoke with the ground crew in Kona and confirmed that the swim is indeed slow this year. Big swells were causing poor visibility and even race leader Andy Potts had to be re-routed because of a missed buoy. This is all good news for RC as it looks like his swim went smoothly as planned.
I've also received confirmation that he is in very high spirits and even gave the crowd a few Usain Bolt poses while making his way through T1. Perhaps he is channeling the Jamaican for some run inspiration later in the race?
