And we're off!
Right now RC is about 10 miles into the bike after a solid swim. He came in with an official split of 1:21:38, which is right around where he placed in 2010 (1:20:27). Looking at the pros times, it looks like the swim was a little slow this year. I think this was a good strategy to stay conservative and save energy for the bike and run.
RC is through the first two bike splits (6.4mi) averaging around 17mph. There are a few climbs out of town so this pace is to be expected. My guess is that he takes the first 20 miles to settle into a rhythm before he unleashes those patented Christofferson cycling skills.
Let's beam him some energy out there!
